Ancient Alien Theory

Ancient Astronaut Theory

This theory arose, in a condensed form, in the 1950s with the publishing of Erich Von Daniken's Chariots of the Gods. This book questioned a lot of perception about some of the marvels of the world, in a new, and thought-provoking way. Often, some of the items that Von Daniken mentions in his book, are not widely known, and thus its interesting reading about them, and can add more 'fuel to the fire' so to speak.

What is Ancient Astronaut Theory?

Simply put, A.A.T. is the theory that some of the marvels of the ancient world weren't constructed by our ancestors, or at least not entirely. Fundamental to this, in Von Daniken's mind at least, is the idea that Extraterrestrials were somehow apart of the construction and building.

Ancient Wonders

Most people have heard the idea that the Pyramids were built by Aliens, at least in passing. And this evidence does seem weak, simply because it is conjecture. It is entirely possible to imagine that primitive man imported logs along the nile, and build these grand tombs to their god-kings. While it does seem this task would have been hard, it doesn't seem any harder or more profound than the Great Wall of China.

In truth, this writer does believe that these were the result of human ingenuity, and nothing more. However, to truly understand this theory, you must dig deeper.

Lets take the Nazca Lines for example, similarly well known, these lines are outside of Nazca, Peru. These giant glyphs appear as strange, almost random lines from the ground, but from the air, one can see large pictures of birds, monkeys, and seemingly configurations that look very similar to airports.

I am the last person to discount the artistic nature of the human soul. And I could possibly see someone doing something like this with pure artistic intent. However, there is one part of it that gets to me. With any art, as any form of communication, there are two relevant actors in the communication, the sender and the receiver.  Obviously, the receiver is meant to be one who is in the air...far up in the air...and unless this was a mural intended for a god, I don't see any way this art could be observed otherwise. You get where I'm going with that.

Lastly, there are ruins or wonders like the buildings at Tiahuatacon, that trully defy any explanation. Tiahuatacon is an ancient ruin, located thousands of miles above sea level, next to the astoundingly high Lake Titicaca in Bolivia.

What is interesting about Tiahuatacon, is that it, dates to a time when it was previously thought that humanity was nomadic and tribal (at best). More importantly, not only was there evidence of settlement, but that these settlements were highly advanced even by today's standards. In the construction of Tiahuatacon, large stone blocks were used that were shaped like the letter 'T', albeit slightly thicker, and about half as tall as a person.

These 'T' blocks would be interworked with each other and stacked on one another. It is hard, even by today's standards to build at this altitude, and what is even more impressive, is that the dimensions of all these large blocks used in construction, are exactly the same for each block, down to a 1/100th of an inch, proven by the blocking have an interlocking groove that was 1/50th of an inch deep, and perfectly level.

All this, from a society that wasn't supposed to have writing until the around 500 AD.

Could it have been Humanity?

The Ancient Astronaut Theory is just that, a theory. It also holds true that maybe these civilizations were far more advanced than Western Scientists would like to believe. No matter what the circumstance, one thing is for certain, more research needs to be done.

Its true. I think it will be a classic, in that it represents, from start to finish, something we felt as a global community, even if only for a minute.

I am an avid reader of Zechariah Sitchin's books. I have also read several of Danikens and Graham Hitchcocks books. An interesting hub and yes I do believe that aliens interacted with human beings in the remote past (and perhaps even to the current times)

I posted this hub on our Alien UFO Truth fan page at http://www.facebook.com/AlienUFOTruth
